In 1932, during the depths of the Great Depression, T.A. Doebler made a bold decision—start a seed business when farmers needed it most.
At a time when poor soil practices were contributing to the Dust Bowl and uncertainty gripped American agriculture, Doebler focused on one simple mission:
help farmers succeed with better seed and smarter practices.
From his farm in Jersey Shore, Pennsylvania, he built a reputation as a trusted seedsman—someone who understood the land because he worked it himself. That foundation of trust, quality, and farmer-first thinking is still at the heart of everything we do today.
Still a Family Affair
Nearly a century later, the Doebler legacy continues.
Today, T.A. Doebler’s great-grandson, Chris McCracken, carries that mission forward—on the very same ground where it all began. The original seed corn facility has been revitalized into a modern, high-capacity seed operation, serving farmers and seed partners across North America.
While names and brands have evolved over the years, one thing hasn’t changed:
this is still a family business, built to serve farmers.
